Next! Move along now.
Ok, so it's time to start thinking about what to work on next and I think my decision has been made. I'm having a new start with Mermaids of the Deep Blue by Mirabilia. I'm not 100% sure about the fabric, so tonight whilst the light was still good I did a floss toss. (Picture clickable for clearer view.)
What do you think? Do you think it's 'too aqua'? There's a bit of pink in there too. Be honest with me please. Don't just say you like it to please me. I can quite easily work on Spring Ride for a while until I can get a new piece of fabric. Oh, just in case you don't know or can't remember what Mermaids of the Deep Blue looks like, here's a picture:
Thanking your all in advance for your comments and a very big thank you for all the wonderful comments you made about Magnolia. You made me very big headed you know! :o)

I think it needs a darker fabric, a lot of the floss just seems to disappear into the fabric.
I agree with Angela, I think it needs a darker fabric also. I'm not liking the aqua color with the floss toss.
I think you should go darker. 3753seems to disappear on the fabric. otherwise I would have said a nice choice. Look forward to seeing your progress on Spring Ride instead.
Well, I'm not much of a blue person so I can't offer you much advice. But good luck!!
I for one love it, mine is on a blue lagoon Aqua colour, and 3753 does not disappear from it at all, the colours all look good on it, so you go with what you want too go with hun.
As you know I would stitch it on that colour, with no hesitation
Hugs xxxxxxx
Personally I think that the colours on their tails will just blend in too much. You need something a little darker to make them pop.
This is a nice one. I have this one on my wishlist too :)
Can't wait to see your start on it.
I compared your fabric to that on the materials list for this design at Sew and So, and it does seem quite a bit lighter. I think something a bit darker would make the colours really stand out well. I look forward to watching your progress on it.
I think your lighter blue and aqua floss are going to disappear on that fabbie. I think going darker may be better!!
I'm with many others - go with a darker color hon. congrats on your choice of a new start. If you would like to join the Mirabila blog I have set up email me at drewsgrands@hotmail.com and I will add you!
Nice to hear you are working on Spring Ride. It must be close to done?
Have you tried the fabric viewer? http://www.stitching.jekdesign.com/FabricChoices.html If your material is listed you can see what it would look like or you could pick a color that is similar. Just a thought.
I love this design, but I don't think that fabric is quite right for it. I agree with the others, it does need a bit darker coloured fabric.
This is one of my fave designs but I doubt that I will ever stitch it as it is designed because I've never found a fabric that truly suits the idea. I started twice (once with the recommended fabric) and both attempts looked awful! Darker blue doesn't really work any better than the piece that you have chosen, from my experience.
I'm going to parrot the others, I think darker as well. You'd probably be happier in the end :o)
Oh boy ...I think a bit darker will make it pop.
I love that chart,
and the spring ride is still waiting to be finished.
Good luck with your choice.
