A visit and Magnolia
Last weekend Riley and I had a mini break at Kathy's house. Kathy lives about 3 1/2 hrs drive away from here and has been 'up north' to my house lots of times, but we had never been down to hers. We had a fun time with lots of chatting and baking, a little bit of stitching here and there and a trip to Bristol Zoo. The weather was gorgeous - a proper spring day and we even had a picnic! I thought you might like to see a selection of the 100 or so photo's I took while we were there.
I just love the butterfly house.
Roar! My favourite shot of the day :o)
A lot of the photo's were taken through glass. I tried to avoid reflections, but in some shots it wasn't possible, like the gorgeous Red Panda above. Isn't he a cutie!
Yep, it's a fish. I can't remember what though.
The two bright spots on this urchin really were there and are not just camera flash.
A really bad photo of Riley looking as though he's an exhibit too.
Arrghhhh! We're in prison!
If only I could get out of here ... I'd rip your head off! LOL
This little guy was just about to shoot down his burrow when I shouted "Hey, I only want to take your photo" and he stopped and did a lovely pose for me. He was just the cutest!
And now for some stitching. I have hardly managed to fit any in for quite a few weeks now (apart from about 4 lines on the wings at Kathy's) and am well behind schedule with Magnolia. She has to be finished and in the framers no later than the end of the first week in May if I want to give her to mum for her birthday. I finished off her wings today and backstitched her top body and a bit of one wing, and here she is ...
Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I'm off to do some blog reading now, which is something else I've not done for quite a few weeks, so I might just be popping down your way in the next hour or so ;-)

That looks like a wonderful visit with Kathy. The photos of your trip are great. Love the one of Riley.
I guess those needles better get smokin' eh!
Stunning photos! The urchin was checking you out, LOL!
Thanks for sharing the lovely pics. I don't think I've ever seen a Red Panda before. Cool!
Magnolia is looking great too.
Lovely pics - looks like you all had a lovely time. Magnolia is looking good. :0)
Magnolia is looking beautiful. I do love those Mirabilia flower fairies.
Loved your zoo photos. I especially like the green parrot - the reason I like him so much is because he is a New Zealand Kea :-)
